BANKS CONTROL POSITION

A member of the Federal Ministry recently stated that the Government favoured an increase in the exchange rate.

The acting-Prime Minister,. Mr. J. Til. Fenton, now points out that while the Government considers that tlie rate should Ire- increased, the control of the matter is vested with the hanks and other large financial institutions.
