GAOL FOR SOLICITOR
CLIENTS’ MONEY TAKEN. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) , WELLINGTON, Dec. 18. A sentence of imprisonment for three years with hard labour was imposed by Mr Justice Ostler to-day on Fa’aiok Fabian Wills, a solicitor who had pleaded guilty at Wanganui to seven charges of misappropriating clients’, money. laa asking for the utmost possible clemency Mr W. J. Ta-eadwell, prisoner’s counsel, said he did not seek to extenuate the offence and referred to Wills’ long period of excellent conduct. With two exceptions his dealings with tl?e clients principally affected were in perfect order. Wills was married with a family of seven and felt his. position very keenly. After his sentence had been served Wills would do his utmost; to rehabilitate and anake restitution. Mr Justice Ostler said he oould see no extenuation for pi’isoaaer’s conduct.; He must have realised the gravity of the. offence and the inevitable consequence. He imposed a sentence of three years’ hard labour on each count, the sentences to be concurrent.
