ANNIVERSARY GIFT
VALUABLE BLOCK OF LAND. ! CHRISTCHURCH RESIDENT. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) ■CHRISTCHURCH, Dec. 10. - A valuable block of land has been given to the people of Greater Christchurch by Mr. T. J. Edmonds in order to mark the eightieth anniversary of the founding of the province. , The land is on the corner of Wainoni and River Roads, and adjoins the riverside boulevard. Thin is the second valuable gift which Mr. Edmonds has made to tbo fitv. In order lo celebrate 50 years of re.-idoueo here ho presented the citizens with a band rotunda and- «• clock toner. The land is to be held in trust as. a nublict reserve. Mr. Edmonds has ex-m-essed a, desire that permission be c-iven for the placing of a suitable- memorial to the late Professor Bickerton in a corner of the reserve.
