EARTHQUAKE TREMORS
THREE DISTINCT SHOCKS. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Dee. 18. An earthquake shock was felt at 11.23 last night, followed by three others, at 5.54 a.m.. 0.4 b a.m. and 9.9 a.m. All were .slight. The origin is estimated to be between 7b and 200 miles distant- although the direction cannot be definitely stated.
A slight tremor was experienced in Hawera at 11 p.m. yesterday and four further light shocks at 5.9 a.m., 5.55 a.m., 6.13, and 9.25 a.m. to-day.
