A win for Tarurutangi by an innings and nine runs was the result of a cricket match between Tarurutangi and a Hawera eleven at Tarurutangi. Hawera’s first innings realised 38 runs, McFadyen contributing 15. L. Bishop and Sp. Giddy bore the brunt of the bowling, the former taking four wickets and the fatter two. Tarurutangi replied with 151 for nine wickets, declared. St. Giddy knocked up 68 not out in attractive tvle, and Sp. Giddy made 35. H. Hughes, with four wickets, a.nd A. Stevens, with two, did most damage. A total of 104 was the result of Hawera’r second innings, the principal scorers being A. Worrall 46 and A. Stevens 22. Sp. Giddy, who took six wickets for 29, was the most ..successful bowler. VICTORIA COLLEGE VISIT. Information has been received that a Victoria College (Wellington) team will pay a visit to Taranaki at the 1 end ol the month and will play at match against South Taranaki at Hawera oil December 30. They will then go to New Plymouth on Jnuary 1, playing North Taranaki on that day. Mr. Bott.rill has been appointed manager of the North Taranaki —Victoria College match. The treasurer of the North Taranaki Division reports that the gross takings for the Hawke Cup match were £27 14s 6d. TEAMS FOR SATURDAY.
