ACCIDENT ON ISLAND
MISHAP TO YOUNG SEAAIAN. SEAPLANE AND~CRUISER ASSIST. (By Telegraph —Press Association.) AUCKLAND, Dec. 4. Both a . Fairey seaplane, which brought prompt medical assistance, and the cruiser Dunedin played a part yesterday in aiding Trevor W ilson, a seaman, who was injured at midday on Great Barrier Island and brought to Auckland. "Wilson, aged 18, ieceived severe injuries to his left arm and back through being caught m a winch loading firewood on a scow. Tlie owners, on being advised b\ telegram of the accident, sent a doctor in a seaplane and arranged tor the naval base to wireless the Dunedin (at manoeuvres in the gull) to pick up Wilson and transport him to Auckland. He was admitted to hospital in the evening and is now progressing . favourably, hut it is likely That his hand will he amputated.
