DEATH OK .1. T. TYLDESLEY. A LAD FROM LANCASHIRE. (British Official Wireless.; RUGBY, Nov. 27. J. 'I - . Tvldesley, the famous Lancashire and England cricketer, wlhose death occurred to-day, played for England in Test matches 26 times against Australia and five times against South Africa.

Gaining a place in first-class cricket in tin* 'nineties, J. T. Tyldesley quickly rose to fame and an unbounded popularity. He began to be noticed when he was a young Lancashire batsman. and thereafter his name was associated with that county. Tyldesley played for England against Australia in England in 1896 (two Tests). 1902 (five Tests). 1905 (five Tests), and 1909 (four Tests). He visited Australia in 1901-2, and again in j 1903-4. On each occasion he was in-j eluded in the Test team for all five names. In 1902 he scored 138 at Birmingham. In 1905 he scored 105 not out at tin* Oval and 100 at Leeds. Against South Africa, at Cape Town, he scored 112 in the 1898-9 series of matches. With R. H. Spooner, at the Oval in 1905, he established a record sixtli-wicket partnership for England against Australia, adding 158 runs to the score. His 57th birthday fell on November 22 last.
