JUVENILE ATHLETICS
IVTAXAIa SCHOOL. SPORTS A happy assembly of some 200 .juvenile, athlete® together with over double that, number of parents and other spectators, met at the Manaia Domain todia.v for the first annual sports gathering of t-h-c Ma-waia District High. School. Beautiful spring weather afforded ideal conditions for a long list of contests. Boys and girls of the primary section of the school contended the honours in: respective championship classes for cups donated' from the Herbert Smith Trust Fund, while success in the particular events' was rewarded ■ with individual prizes. Efficient administration was ensured' by the various officials combining with the secretary, Mr W. A. McKenzie, and the events were presented; in quick succession. The programme, Which commenced shortly ■after Jl o’iclock, was still in progress when the “'Star ” went ter press.
