Home, president of the New Plymouth Rotary Club, was the guest of honour as well as the speaker of the day at the weekly luncheon of the Hawera Rotary Club, held yesterday. Dr. Home spoke of bird life, more particularly of New Zealand birds. The speaker, an ardent bird lover, made many original observations in pointing out the characteristics of birds, generally, and conveyed quite a lot of information in regard to New Zealand birds, hut devoted the greater part of the time at his disposal to detailing the annual migration of the godwits from New Zealand to Siberia.
