FARMING FINANCE

To the Editor.

Sir, —In my letter re Mr Poison’s estimate of expenses on an 120-acre farm and labour for milking: His charge was £3OO and mine £l5O. I was allowing that the owner would be helping himself, as there are very few farmers on an 120-acre farm with butter-fat at lOd who would not be helping. Tne rates: I do not know where Mr Poison’s farm is, but for farm land, except in town area; 14/- per acre seems pretty high, as in Waimate West about 7/6 to 8/- seems about it. Also, the insurance is high, unless it is a very large house.—l am, etc., ODD FARMER.
