COMBINED CLUB SPORTS. LADIES’ IMPROVED RELAY. Under cold though fine weather conditions the fourth of the series of the evening sports meetings held by the combined Hawera, Eltliam and Stratford Amateur Athletic Clubs took place on the Hawera showgrounds last evening. Inclement weather in the afternoon affected the attendance and competitors and spectators and fields were smaller than at the previous meeting of the series held at Hawera, none of the Stratford nominees being able to make the visit. The outstanding feature of the evening’s contests was the performance of the Hawera Ladies’ Club A relay team, which, running from the scracth mark, covered the quarter-mile in 59 2-ssec., this being three-fifths of a .second faster t'nan the same team’s winning time at the electric light sports last week. The officials for the evening were as follow: Messrs L. I. Mar ter (starter), A. Grant and Whiting (track judges), C. Cummings and H. Sargent (timekeepers), H. S. Maslin and P. Linkhorn (field judges), S. A. Lay (marshal), E. A. Stevens (announcer), F. Cliing (result steward), 'R. Lindrum (secretary). Results were as follow:

120 yards high hurdles.—S. A. Lay, Hawera (scr., 1 down), 1; A. Hart, Hawera (20yds, 2 down), 2. Only competitors to finish. Won by 12 yards. 100 yards handicap—M. Prince,. Eltliam (6yds), 1; T. Iv. Cambie, Hawera (3iyds), 2; J. Whiting, Eltliam (10yds), 3. Nine competed. Won by a foot with a foot between second and third. Time, 10 3-ssec. Three-quarter mile cycle.—A Hart, Hawera (70yds), 1; K.
