SCHEME ABANDONED
(By Telegraph—Press Association.) AUCKLAND. Oct. 25. It i s learned that a .synchronous examination for certificates of proficiency in primary schools, the most extensive of its kind ever contemplated in the Dominion, lias been abandoned. It- is understood that the procedure followed in former years for awarding: certificates is to be iol--10 The Director of Education, Mr TB. Strong, when interviewed said the examination had been cancelled at tic direction of the Minister, but ho declined to say why.
