During the visit to the- Hawera Rotary Club yesterday of the District Governor for New Zealand, Rotarian H. J. Guthrie, the opportunity was taken to induct Mr. J. W. Harding as a. Rotarian.
Rotarian H. J. Guthrie, of Dunedin, District Governor of Rotary for New Zealand, who arrived yesterday on a visit to Hawera, left for Wellington by this morning’s express. Yesterday he addressed the weekly luncheon gathering, of Hawera Rotarians, and in the evening was present at a further assembly when matters relating to- the Rotary movement were discussed.
A British official wireless: message states that, the Qu-een -of Spain and her two -daughters, Princess Beatrice and Princes® AT aria Christina, arrived in London on Thursday and were greeted by the Prince of Wales, Prince George and Princess Beatrice. Professor Hornell arrived at Cromwell on Thursday night on his mission to inspect the Kawarau dam and scheme, during which time the gates will be temporarily closed. Professor Hornell is due at- Auckland on Tuesday to take his final departure.
