We have thirty four dickens and wc 'have a duck with three _ ducklings, and a light Sussex hen sitting on ten eggs, and a turkev sitting on twenty six hens eggs. I have two nieces and their names are Shirliejy ancL Noliaj. Shirley is four months old and Nola is three weeks old. WairerO’ Falls Dear Smile Queen, — We have one pet lamb now, which we have had for two weeks. We have two more milking cows now, one black and white cow. and a. white one. I milk the black and white one, while my father milks the other two. An inspector came to our school a few days ago. We are having fine weather uic;w, but we have been having rain lately. Mum and Dad have put one hundred and thirty cabbage plants in to-day, and we will have plenty of cabbages il they all grow. It is rather showery here to-day, and tin’s morning it was hailing. We will have some more chicks out by to-night; we have nearly forty now. The tour hoys are outside playing cricket and they are having some fun. Merernere. Dear Smile Queen. —J must write a few lines to you again this week. The bovs at our school have si vegetable plot each; they have to look after- it and weed it. Am rata. Dear Smile Queen,— It is such a long time since 1 wrote to you that 1 I thought I would write to-day. Beryl has a little lamb named Snowy and he is such a dear. We have twenty-five of this year’s birds eggs. The clematis and lawyer are coming into flower. Our pear and apple trees are blossoming. Five of my friends and myself are learning to play tennis at school. Every Friday afternoon at school wo have folk dancing. Our school examinations are very near now. Our school has won the Henry A. Lane shield for agriculture. This is the second year we lin-A'e won it. We have our grandma living with us now. I have a little calf named Ginger. 1 will make you something for the Gift Cupboard. f Hawera. Dear Smile Queen—. The week has gone so quickly, and it is time to write my letter to you again. Did you see the eclipse of the sun this morning Smile Queen? I did. Mum smoked a piece of glass for us to see it before we went to school. We had another look at the sun at school. The weather has been very windy to-day, and there have been very heavy showers. Mum can’t get Kathleen to write at all; she is a good writer too. The pun is growing quite big now; he is very playful too. Christmas is coming very close now. We will soon he able to count the days. I have still got the prize you gave me for last Christmas. I have hardly used it yet. Wei l Smile Queen I can’t think of any more to write about. I remain your loving Smile, Victor Robinson.
