HUIA, LODGE, NO. 9. INSTALLATION OF OFFICERS. The installation of the officers elected for the term commencing October 1 of Huia Lodge, No. -9,~ 1.0.0. F., New Zealand, "took place in the lodge room, Nelson Street, last evening. A team of installing officers from the Paritutu Lodge, New Plymouth, under the direction of D.D.G.M. Bro. R. L. Raynor, P.G,, performed! the ceremony, with impressive dignity and ease bom of apparent long practice in installation work, the whole ceremonv being performed without hitch or hesitation or reference to ritual.

The officers of Huia Lodge installed in their respective positions were: 1.P.G., Bro. J. Timmins; N.G., Bro. O. V. Church; V.G., Bro. P. L. Mitchell ; Financial Secretary-, Bro. A. J. Cooper P.G. : Recording Secretary. Bro. B. L. Haseltine P.G.; Treasurer, Bro. P. Trim, P.G.; Conductor, Bro. L. C. Storm P.G.; Warden, Bro. L. Newall; Chaplain. Bro-. W. Ritter; R.S.N.G, Bro A. H. Corey P.G.; L.S.N.G., Bro. N Hatcher; R.S.V.G.. Bro. L. Frankivn; L.S.V.G., Bro. A. Yeates; R. Bro. H. Collier; L.S.S., Bro. S. A. Lay; 1.G., Bro. C. S. Davis. After the ceremony the assembly moved to the Carlton Tea-rooms, where they were joined by about 20 ladies from the Kiwi (Rebekah) Lodge and a good programme of toasts interspersed with musical items was thoroughly enjoyed by";all. The loyal toast coupled with the toast of the Grand Lodge of New Zealand was proposed by D.D.G.M. Bro. L. C. Storm, P.G., and was responded to by D.D.G.M. Bro. R. L. Raynor P.G.

Other toasts honoured were: “Installing Officers,” proposed by Bro. O. Y. Church and responded to by Bros. D. Little and P. Wright (Paritutu Lodge) ; “Officers for Past Term,” proposed by Bro. S. A. Lay and responded to by Bros. J. Timmins I.P.G. and P. Trim P.G. ; “Newly Installed Officers,’ proposed by Bro. Harrop P.G. (Loyal Opunake Lodge) and responded to by Bro. P. L. Mitchell V.G.; “The Visitors,” proposed by Bro B, L. Haseltine P.G. and responded to by, Bros. Clouston, Little. Harvey and Holmes; “Kiwi Rebekah Lodge,” proposed by Bro. H. Collier and responded "to by Sister Keenan V.G. (Kiwj); “The Artists,” proposed by Bro. A. J, Cooper P.G. and responded to bv Bro. B. Zinsli.

Vocal items were rendered by the following: Sister B. Cooper, Miss J. Davis. Bros. Collier, Storm and Church, while Bro. Zinsli and Miss J. Davis rendered a. vocal duet.

The singing of “Auld Lang Syne” and the National Anthem brought to a close one oi the most .successful evenings vet- held under the auspices of - Huia Lodge.
