The Navy Department has received a message from Captain Keppler, leader of the United States Naval Obsorvatorj expedition witnessing the solar eclipse on Tuesday at Ninat'ou reporting that, the observations were satisfactory. “The New Zealand parties were successful. The natives were not alarmed, but much interested. No clouds. SD/ of very good quality. Direct photo graph " entirely satisfactory. Corona, midway in type, fairly Two fairly "long streamers, one at 300 degrees. one. at 120, and six medium streamers at 41 degrees.’’
