■Mr H. Guthrie, District 'Governor for Rotary, of Dunedin, is in Hawera and is staying at the White Hart Hotel. He was the speaker at the Rotary dinner today. After a sudden illness the death occurred) late last evening of Mr Frederick Vincent, of Eltham, aged 45, from double pneumonia. The late Mx Vincent was in business as a jeweller and was a popular and highly respected figure in South Taranaki. .For many years he was a member of the Hawera Acclimatisation Society, and for a eonsiderabla period served on the executive of that body. He took an exceptionally keen interest in the society’s activities, and also in all sporting pursuits, Being a good shot and a firstclass angler. 'His knowledge of birds and fish was extensive, and anglers ■and shooters have much to thank him for in his endeavours to improve the pastimes. Deceased is survived by a widow and two sons—Colin, aged 17, of the Post Office staff, Eltham, and Rex, of the State Advance® Department, Wellington, and also by his mother, brother amid a sister. The funeral will leave his late residence, Stunners Street, Eltham, on Sunday.
