Ihe girl had been playing, in the garden when a representative ot' the “Dailv Express” called to see her, and was anxious to j frustrate her powers. : ’J found that 1 could divine water.” j-Joyce said, “when 1 was on a visit- to | niy aunt at Eynshain, near Oxford. A 'water diviner had been engaged in finding water near my liouse. and he had lie.t behind his divining rod. Immediately the twig began to j ist and turn, although -held very i ft* by the girl. There was uo slow swyving or fcwitellings, but a thorough- !■' strong twisting movement, which was easily discernible. In a few seconds the twig twisted to such an extent that it snapped off. 1 Joyce then went into an adjoining field with another twig., and walked about. After a little time she said, •'There's water hero.” and the twig she was holding! again began to twist and turn in heir hands. She declared it was quite easy for her to follow the course- of an underground stream with her twigs.
