SOUVENIR OR PROGRAMME?

SEQUEL TO TEST MATCH

(By Telegrapn—Press Association.)

CHRISTCHURCH, Sept. 17. The issue of an unauthorised programme and the sale of it to spectators at the second Rugby Test match at Christchurch on July 5 was the subject of an action in the Magistrate’s Court to-day. The prosecutor was J. O’. McGillivray, secretary of the Canterbury Rugby Union, and the defendants Archibald Kennedy and Joseph bames Meldrum.

It was alleged that they printed a document purporting to be a programme of the football match without an express permit. Tile programme was incomplete in that it did not contain the field numbers of the players. The defence was that the document was not a programme, but merely a souvenir.

The magistrate reserved his decision.
