TAHITI’S MAILS

ARRIVAL IN LONDON

(By Telegraph—Press Association.)

WELLINGTON, Sept. 13. The General Post Office notifies the receipt of the following cable a,t 12.30 p.m.: “The mails which left Wellington on August 12 per the Tahiti, via San Francisco, and which, owing to the foundering of the Tahiti, were transferred to the Ventura, arrived in London on September 11.” This was the date the mails were scheduled to arrive had nothing happened. Apparently a quick trip was made by the Ventura, and there was speedy transit across the States.
