(By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Sept. 12. The Dunedin Waterworks Extension Bill, the Dunedin District Drainage and Sewerage Amendment Bill, and the Waiapu County Council Empowering Bill were read a second time in the Legislative Council to-day.

The Council resumed the discussion on Sir James Allen’s motion calling for the order of reference of the committee set up to consider the state of the superannuation funds and asking that a report should be presented to Parliament at the earliest possible date.

Hon. J. B. Gow said if it was intended to depart from the law as it stood there should be au amendment of the law.

Hon. W. H. Triggs questioned whether it was a wise policy to load the Consolidated Fund.

The leader of the Council, Hon. R. Masters, said all the information would be made available, but it would bo impossible for the committee to report this session.

The motion was agreed to and the Council adjourned at 3.45 p.m., until Wednesday next.
