BALL AT TOKAORA

A HUGE SUCCESS

The committee of the Tokaora hall are to be congratulated on the success attending their ball last night, when the floor was taxed to its utmost capacity by a crowd of visitors from many parts of the district. All had a thoroughly good time.

The ladies’ committee was as follows: Mmes. Ward (chair), J. Joyce, S. Thrush. H. Wren, Stewart, F. Mills, senr.. Misses P. Ward, M. Bolland and Lavery. The men’s committee comprised Messrs S. Thrush (chair), T. Bolland. F. Stewart, T. Bromley, H. Wren, E. Tippett (hon. secretary). Mr. Jas. Freyne made a very efficient M.C. Novelty dances were won by the following: Monte Carlo, Mr. and Mrs. Briggs and Miss Adlnm and Mr. C. Griffin; spot waltz, Miss C. Jordan and Mr. H. McLean; mystery man, Mr. Bond and Miss E. Floyd.

The music was played by Wills’ Melody Makers, extras being contributed by Misses Arden and Glengarry and Mr. Barlevman.

At the conclusion Mr. S. Thrush thanked all for their attendance, the donors of prizes, th© ladies, and all rvho had in any way contributed to the great success achieved.
