The training of pilots at the. Hawera aerodrome will be continued to-morrow afterno-oiT. when the public are, invited to be present. Flying Officer Keith, the- Western Federated Flying Clubs’ y.i lot.-instractor, will he giving tuition in the D.H. ’plane, loaned: to, the federation bv the, Government, and it is expected that he will remain bore for some days.
At the weekly luncho-en of the, Hawera Rotary Club held to-day the Rev. El. Si. Emmitt was the speaker of the day. Mr. Emmitt gave a- very interesting account of the publishing; in Belgium throughout the War period of the secret newspaper which played so valiant apart in maintaining the, ,Spirit- of loyal Belgians,, and thereby proved -an incurable irritant to the -oppressors in possession. Tragedv followed closely upon the mdonrina'table people responsible for the production, and some were, overtaken, but the spirit of mischief was Aver present with them and the, speaker detailed a number o-f the incidents of hoax and deception plaved on the secret service of the enemy. Mr. Emmitt was thanked heartily for his address.
