The whittling down of tin* i’a-lia-mentary order paper with a view to ending the work of the session as expeditiously as possible is a cues! ion still engaging the attention of the Government. The aoting-Prime Minister (Hon. E. A. Ransom) said last owning that he would probably confer wit l the leaders of the Reform and Labour Parties to-day with a view to- admsving the remaining business to ihe House’s mutual satisfaction.
Mr. Ransom was asked what the Government’s intentions were with regard to the Transport Bill, the delay of which until next session lias been mooted, but he replied that he preferred to make a statement oil + he whole question of remaining legislation a little later in the week.
