BANK EXPERT’S VISIT
INVESTIGATION OF FINANCES,
(By Telegraph —Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Sept. 10. Sir Otto Niemeyer, the Bank of England expert, who is visiting New Zealand at the invitation of the Government in order to inquire into questions relating to banking and currency, is being kept fully occupied with his investigations in Wellington, and he is in constant communication with the Treasury. He is to leave for Rotorua to-morrow, and he will return to complete his work on Tuesday. Questioned concerning Sir Otto’s inquiries this evening, the acting-Prime Minister (Hon. E. A. Ransom) said he would confine his activities strictly to questions upon which he had been asked to report. Mr Ransom said he was not certain whether Sir Otto would place his report in the hands of the Government before he returned to Australia, or whether lie would complete it .after leaving New Zealand.
