The Australian cricketers commenced their match, against Kent m hue weather to-day. At the drawing of stumps for the day the Australians were all out for ISI and Kent had lost four wickets for 87 runs. The match started late owing to the late arrival of the team’s train. Without addition Freeman, who was remarkably successful this season, claimed Ponsford, Ashdown taking a wonderful catch at square-leg. Jackson and Bradman gave a poor exhibition and both were out before lunch. An inspection of the wicket revealed a slope resulting ill Freeman, making the ball come in sharply from the leg.
