PETROL PRICE REDUCTION
COMPANIES DIVIDE TAX. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Aug. 27. The main importing companies of bulk motor spirit have decided that- the prices of the brands of motor spirit imported by the Shell, Vacuum, Atlantic Union, Texas and Big Tree companies in all grades shall be. reduced by Id per gallon, both on bulk and case lots, as from to-morrow. This means that these oil companies are absorbing Id per gallon of the taxation recently imposed, and that the motorist will only be charged an additional Id.
