CHURCH HALL FIRE
ALL KG ATIONS OE ARSON. YOUNG MEN ACQUITTED. (By Telegraph —Press Association.) HAMILTON, Aug. 27. David George Harrison, aged 19, and Herzjci Edward Orr, aged; 21, were charged in the Supreme Court to-day with wilfully setting fire to- the Anglican Church hall at Frankton on the night of May 27: Accused were members of a party of Cambridge gangsters, previously dealt, with. who. set the. hall on fire, but it was claimed by oounsdi that both were only passive participants in the offence. They went with the others in the car and remained in the car while the. offence was being committed. They were not associated' with the .gang in other offences. After a. brief retirement, a verdict of not guilty was returned.
