OKAIAWA.

TENNIS CLUB’S CONCERT. (From Our Own Correspondent.) The Okaiawa Tennis Club lias every reason to be (gratified with the large attendance at the concert on Wednesday night. The concert .programme was organised by Mr. and Mrs. A. Bonetti, of liawera, and consisted of a varied programme of musical items and songs. A large orchestra, consisting of a great number of stringed 'instruments under the leadership of Mr. Bonetti, gave several selections during the evening. Songs were rendered by Mrs. A. Bonetti. Messrs >S. Anderson, I’. Spragg and W. G. Simpson. These items were much enjoyed, the audience demanding encore numbers in each instance. The rest of the programme was taken up with musical selections by members of the orchestra, and comprised violin quartets, steel guitar duets, mandolin duets and trios, and a violin solo' bv Mr. A. Bonetti. Before closing with the National Anthem, Mr. A. Lees, vice-president of the club, thanked the- large audience for attending, and on his motion a hearty vote of thanks was tendered the performers by acclamation. The hall was then cleared for dancing and quite a large crowd participated in a programme to the excellent music provided by Mr. G-. Ngaia’s orchestra of five instruments. Supper was provided by members and supporters of the club. Mr. D. Crawford carried out the duties of M.C. The club anticipates having its new tennis courts iu full swing for the opening of the coming season.
