HAWER A, HATCH FRIES. LARGE SUPPLIES OE OVA. There has just been received at the Hawora hatcheries by the local society, 150,000 ova. (brown) which have been put down by the curator (Mr Miller). The ova are from Otago and are reported by him io bo in first-class order. Some weeks ago 100,000 ova were, received from North Canterbury and these are now in the swimming stage. The usual allowance for fry is ten per cent, but these have done so well that the loss is only about two per cent. The work at the hatchery is going ahead well and promises a successful season for .sportsmen for 1930-1931.
