The general market is demoralised with a. continued absence of demand and forced sales in certain quarters. Trices are erratic. Nett Zealand finest quoted, fresh arrivals, 130 s; stored, 128 s; Danish, slightly firmer, 136 s f.o.b. Cheese. —White, 745; coloured, 80s; Canadian, 80s to 82s spot, 74s to 75s c.i.f., but- no enquiry. .Retails are unchanged. Messrs Newton . King, Ltd., of Hau era, have received the following front their London principals (Messrs K. and U . Davidson, Ltd., London and Glasgow), giving an indication of prices railing on August 22. The figures m brackets indicate the position at the date of the last report, August 16:— Hatter.—The market has receded somewhat during the week and Danish now commands" a. premium of 12s per ctvt Salted' 127 sto 132 s (133 sto 1365); unsalted, 146 sto 150 s (150 s): wheys, firsts (1265). seconds.
