POLICEMAN FIRES ON CAR
MAN SHOT IN BACK. " United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph Copyright). SYDNEY, Aug. 24. A. policeman at Newtown boarded the running board of a motor car in which was a party of young men. He ordered ihc driver to stop. He was pitched off, whereupon lie fired .six shots at the fugitive's and James Lloyd, aged 18, was shot in the back and is in a critical condition. The car, it is believed, was illegally used.
