UNIONS AMALGAMATE
TWO' LARGE AUSTRALIAN BODIES (United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph Copyright). SYDNEY. Aug. 20. The executives of the Australian Workers’ Union and the Miners’ Federation. two of the largest unions in Australia, have agreed to amalgamate. The combined membership will be 200.000. There will be local autonomy in regard to administration of domestic affairs. The .scheme awaits the ratification of members.
