County cricket results are: — • Northants boat Aliddlesex. —Aliddlcsex, iu the first innings, made 284. (Price 68) and in the second lost’nine wickets for 269 and declared (Durston 92 not out). Nortliants,' in the first innings, made 293 (Hawtin 79, Jupp 75) and in the second lost one wicket for 84. Northants won on the first innings. Essex beat Sussex. —Sussex, in the first innings, made 232 (Langridge 82; Nichols took five wickets for 41), and in the second .160 (Smith took four wic-kets for 32). Essex, in the first innings, made 252 (Cutmore 82; Browne took six wickets for 77), and in the second lost three wickets for 141. Essex won by seven wickets. Lancashire heat Kent —Lancashire, in the first innings, made 254( G. Tyldesley 79; Freeman took live wic-kets for 95) and in the second 148 (Freeman took seven wickets for 54). Glamorgan beat Derby.—Glamorgan, in the first innings, made 260 (Turnhull 135) and in the second 213 (Alitchell took five wickets for 54). Derby, in the first innings, made 237 (Ryan took six wickets for SO), and in the second 71 (Ryan took six wickets for 27). Glamorgan won by 165 runs.
