TAWHITI SCHOOL
MEETING OF COMMITTEE. The monthly meeting of the Tawliiti School Committee was he'id on Tuesday night, and was attended by Messrs Geo. Dick (chairman), Duncan, Castle, Goad. McDonald, Barl.trop and the headmaster (Mr A. E. Stone). _ Advice was received from the Taranaki Education Board that the usual quarterly capitation allowance had been paid into the committee’s bank account. With a view to general improvement, extensive concrete work had been carrid out round the school and main approach. Gardening work and the 'beautifying of the sdliooll grounds is being carried out to the extent of limited funds. The headmaster reported a slight falling off in attendance, owing, to cedes a lid influenza. He also expressed with satisfaction that 50 children had opened savings bank accounts at the school. Accounts totalliii£r £37 Ids 4d were passed for •payment.
