SUCCESSFUL YEAR

There was a. good attendance oi suppliers at the annual meeting of the Whakamnra Co-operative Dairy Company, Air. H. R. Scott, chairman of directors, presiding. Tn moving the adoption of the annual report and balance-sheet, the chairman congratulated suppliers on a very successful season and said it was good to note that the output had largely increased and was. likely to do so further in the coining season. The directors had decided to instal a pasteurising plant for use in case of need. He voiced cordial appreciation of the work of the manager (Air. Le Fleming) and the secretary (Mr. A. K. Fyson) and said that suppliers owed a great deal to-these .efficient officers. After a short discussion the motion for adoption was carried. Tlie- following were elected directors for the coming year: Messrs H. R. Scott, J. Gulliver, A. W. Herbert, A. .T. Davies, J. C-. Potter, H. AT. Shrimpton and J. Dobson. Messrs Lennon and Tristram were appointed auditors. At a subsequent meeting of the directors Air. Scott was elected chairman .

The 21st annual report and balancesheet of the Manutahi Co-operative Dairy Co., Ltd., to be presented! at the annual meeting of shareholders at Manutahi on Wednesday, August 13, discloses a very satisfactory record of operations over the past year. y The price realised for the company’s produce shipped on opeix consignment enabled advance payments of Is 6d per lb for butter-fat supplied to the end of November and Is 4d per lb for but-ter-fat supplied over the balance of the season. The amount to the credit of the appropriation account will provide for a. further payment to suppliers, but until the balance of the cheese unsold is disposed of and the account sales are to hand it will not be possible to state what amount will be available for distribution.

The totals for the season in regard to manufacture, showing increases on the previous year, were as follow: Pounds of milk, 8,567,676 (inc. 83,335); butter-fat, 365,492.61 b (inc. 15,268.2); cheese, 914,2111 b (inc. 903); creamery butter. 59,0941 b (inc. 54,838); whey butter, 22,2351 b (inc. 67041 b); average test, 4.26; average grade, cheese 91.955. creamery butter 92.724, whey butter 89.699.

Manufactured produce (sold or in stock) was valued: at : Cheese £31603 10s sd. creamery butter £3629 16s lid, whey butter £1076 1.9 s 2d'. Of the foregoing amounts', and including the value of cream (£203 8s lid) the sum of £365 10s lid is credited to stocks.

The auditor (Mr S. R. Veiteh) has certified that the weight of butter made from each pound of butter-fat used for the manufacture of butter was 1.22502, while the weight of cheese made from each pound of butter-fat vas 2.866.

The appropriation account- shows a balance of £1955 4s lOd for distribution.

Messrs R,. S. Scown, H. Cornwall and A. P. Wills retire from the directorate bv rotation, and with the exception of Mr Wills, who intends leaving the district, offer themselves for reelection. Shareholders will also bo asked to appoint an auditor.
