The Glamorgan match finish was the most exciting of the tour. At lunch Australia declared with one wicket do-wn for 71. Bcfoi’G tli£ii Jackson had given a simple catch, and Bradman, who had been struck on the ankle with a ball, limped slightly. The countv were set 218 runs to get in 165 minutes, and when stumps were drawn they were only 21 short. Bates and Dyson gave their side a good start, until Grimmett came on at 33 and was immediately successful. Fairfax was expensive and 100 appeared in 00 minutes with the loss of two wickets. Bates and Turnbull added 03 before Grimmett effected a separation. Bates batted excellently and Turnbull cleanlv, both scoring at a fast pace. The third wicekt fell at 152 and _ the batsmen from then on were dismissed about everv 10 runs. They forced the pace but failed to achieve their objective by a narrow margin. A doctor examined Bradman and found that he had slightly strained a tendon in his foot. The injury is not serious, but a rest will ho necessary. Scores: AUSTRALIA. First Innings 245 Second Innings.
