The Conciliation Council and Arbitration Bill, which, has been amended almost out of recognition by the Senate, was passed by that Chamber today. Labour members declared that the i Bill was not worth twopence now. Senator Lawson, Opposition member, said the giving of arbitral powers to conciliation commissioners, as provided in the Bill, was a fundjimental error, which would impede the arbitration machinery.
