STRANGE CASE IN LONDON

LONDON, July lb. ••Would you care to see your husband ? He is outside the court,” -said a. prosecuting counsel when crossexamining Mrs Rosa Florence Perkins, who in giving evidence hi the Probate Court, had referred to the receipt of a message from her husband at seances. The case concerned the £IO,OOO estate of Dr. Abraham Wallace, formerly a Harley Street snecialist, who died at the age of 80. Mrs Perkins was the executrix and residuary legatee. Dr. Wallace’s three children, who are petitioning for letters of administration on the grounds of intestacy, allege that their father for many years had been obsessed by spiritualism. He suffered from delusions, including the belief that his late wife had appeared to him and directed him to go away with Mrs Perkins, as .she had been divinely appointed to take charge or Counsel said Airs Lerkins had unuried in 1020. but her husband had left her after two years, and she believed him dead. Mrs Perkins said a coal merchant, Evan Powell, whom she had met at a luncheon to the late Sir Conan Doyle, acted as medium at the seances. She presumed it was her husband who was speaking from the spirit world. The hearing was adjourned.
