LIVE STOCK MARKET. PRICES AT ALDINGTON'. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, July 30. Vith the exception of nil easing in values in the fat sheep section, there was little alteration in stock prices at the weekly metropolitan market at Addington to-dav. Eat sheep were penned in larger numbers than for ■some weeks, and as a result of over supply the values were up to Is a head below those ruling at last week’s market-. There were no fresh consignments of North Island cattle forward because of the heavy gale in the early part of the week, but in spite of that fact the entry from local graziers, supplemented by fairly large lines from Southland and South Canterbury, was heavier than for several sales. The sale was j a satisfactory one, with values on a i par with those of last week, and l especially firm for many prime lines forward. The store sheep entry was mediocre and values throughout the sale were on the same basis as those riding at recent markets. The fat lambs entered totalled 181 head, (lie smallest entry of the year. Store- Sheep.—A very small entry, mostly mediocre sorts, and the sale was dull, with no alteration of late rates. The range of prices was: Good I, (j and 8-tooth three-quarterbrcd ewes to 1 IDs fid; ordinary fi and 8-tooth halfbred ewes, 14s 7d to 14s lOd ; backward fi and 8-tooth half bred ewes to 9s lid: sound-mouthed halfbred owes to 12s 4d; sound and failing-mouthed halfbred ewes to Ds 7d. Fat Lambs.—The entry totalled 181 head and bidding was keen throughout. There were some very prime sorts entered and as high as 37s 4d was reached. Fat Sheep.—An entry of 5050, the largest for many weeks. Quality was up to the average. Values were: I Extra prime wethers to 34s 7cl; prime | wethers 26s to 20s; medium wethers 22s to 255; light wethers 16s fid to 21s; extra prime ewes to 265; prime ewes 18s fid to 21s; medium ewes 15s to 17s fid; light ewes 11s Cd to 14s ; aged -owes 8s fid to 11s. Fat Cattle. —The entry was 550 head, the largest for many weeks. The sale was a satisfactory one, with the basis of values ruling last week un--1 altered. Vealers. —A medium-sized entry. The general quality was poor. The top price was £8 13s Gd. with graziers inlying freely. Store Cattle. —There, were several attractive graziers’ lines included in the store cattle entry, which was somewhat larger than last week’s. A pen of cows of good colours and in good condition made up to £6 15s, and another pen from the; same line £6. A nice line of 23 calves made £3 17s and a. pen of 30 Jersey steer calves sold at 19s. Eighteen months’ old steers brought up to £5 10. s and good fresh cows to £5 15s. The offering in the dairy cattle pens was a small one, and the quality only average. Values were: Good second and third calvers £lO 10s to £l2 ss; medium sorts £S 6s to £10; aged and inferior £4 to £7; good heifers £lO to £lO 10s ; medium heifers £7 10s to £8 10s; other isorts £5 os to £6 10s.

Fat Pigs.—Porkers were again in heavy supply. The market -opened at last- week’s rates, but eased slightly as the sale progressed. Choppers were in good demand at late rates.
