Three -fowner Atlantie liners have been acquired by a private -company, and are being' used exclusively for five-day cruises' from Xew York. The cost of the cruise is £6O “fill found. ” The vessel merely siteams round 1 and round' outside what is kiiojwn as the Volstead To-miles limit and the 600 -passengers can have as much genuine British liquor as- they choose —'for which they have to pay, of course. There is nu association with boot-leg-ging in any form. Oil! the first- of these health cruises for tired business men recently, the vessel went full speed 'ahead until the la-miles -limit was reached. Meanwhile passengers walking the deck eagerly discussed the speed of -the ship and with glances at their watches .calculated 1 the time still to wait fo-r zero hour. . . .
[Suddenly a gong, sounded. It was the business’men’-s halt to the.bar. For five* days afterwards- they had the experience of a holiday on licensed premises.
The new enterprise is already becoming tremendously -popular, and at; is understood that berths" on the three liners have been booked until •September.
