ESCAPED FROM CUSTODY
MAN REMANDED. (By Telegraph- Iress Association.) ’DUNEDIN, July 28. At the Police Court, Leo Sylvester Hannan was charged with escaping from lawful custody at Tokaanu in July, 1926. The police stated that accused was serving a sentence of 18 months for safe-breaking when he es caped. He was arrested recently and the Prisons Department asked that accused be remanded to Christchurch tiil August 5. A remand was granted accordingly.
