I Parliament will enter iipon the fifth I week of the sessTon when it meets for the continuation of business this afternoon. After formal matters Have been disposed of the second reading debate of the Unemployment Bill will be continued. Several speakers have yet to express their views on the proposals of the measure, but it is expected that finality will be reached during the I afternoon sitting. In setting aside this, afternoon for the continuation of the debate when the House adjourned on Friday, the Prime Minister (Hon. G. W. Forbes) expressed a hope that that would be sufficient for the remaining discussion. Tne Bill is to be referred to a special committee of the House after it has been read a second time. The debate on the Financial Statement will open this evening, and no doubt there will uc crowded galleries in tne chamber to listen to the speeches. Much criticism of the Government’s taxation proposals is expected. Under the standing orders half an hour is allowed each speaker in the financial debate, which is likely to be prolonged.
