ASTHMA TREATMENT
THE PSYCHOLOGICAL FACTOR
LONDON", July 15
There are at least 200,033 asthmatic persons in Britain, according to a report of the Asthma Research Council, which quotes a New Zealand correspondent who says lie cured himself with a spoonful of olive oil every night. A man over 80, .who suffered ‘for many years, rid himself of asthma by taking a large lump of honey .before sleeping. A taxi-driver cured himself with treacle and rhubarb pills. Others claimed to have been cured through breathing exercises. The report adds: “Unfortunately, treatment which is very successful in one ease frequently fails in another. The psychological factor is large in most of these apparently simple cures.”
