MONTREAL. July 26. s “La Presse, ” a Frencli-Canadian newspaper which enjoys the largest circulation in Canada, either in the English or in the French language, has published a flaming article saying there is a. grave situation in Egypt and that* Britain is determined to call on Canada for troops. The article has caused a tremendous sensation in the Dominion, coming as it does almost on the eve of the election. The paper urges French-Catholic voters to return Mr W. L. Mackenzie King, “who will protect the sons, of French-Canada from becoming cannon fodder for Britain’s foreign wars.”
