FARM INSTRUCTION
BLOCK SYSTEM ADVOCATED ADOPTION BY CONFERENCE DELEGATION TO WAIT ON MINISTER. (By Telegraph—Special to "The Star.") HAMILTON, June 26. The N.D.A. conference yesterday, by a large majority, adopted a resolution “insisting upon the Dairy' Division immediately putting into operation the block system of farm instruction, and that a delegation be appointed: to wait upon the Minister of Agriculture in this connection.” A number of delegates, including one from Eltham, spoke in the highest terms of the work being done by the inspectors already appointed and of their tact and personality. Tin; original wording of the remit was altered to substitute the words “farm instruction” for the words “farm inspection,” it being explained that fanners disliked inspectors, while they welcomed instructors of the type already at work. An amendment to the .effect that the control of the instruction service be linked up with the industry, instead of being under the sole control of. the Dairy Division, was overwhelmingly defeated.
