NEARING END OF VOYAGE. IMPROMPTU RECEPTION. (United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph Copyright). NEW YORK, June 18. Admiral Byrd and his companions are nearing the end of their voyage, and a tremendous reception to-morrow awaits the explorers. A tug-boat carrying Mrs. Byrd and the others met the incoming vessels at the Scotland lightship, where an impromptu reception committee hoarded the City of New York, bringing the Rear-Admiral homeward through a dense fog. NEW YORK’S WELCOME. NEW YORK, June 19. Rear-Admiral Byrd received a tumultuous welcome on arrival here today.
