TROTTING AT EPSOM

(By ‘Abaydos”).

BIG HELDS FOR SATURDAY

The final trotting fixture of the .season promoted by the Auckland Club will be staged at Alexandra, Park tomorrow and Monday. The fact that the June fixture also marks the termination of the year’s light harness activities in the Dominion lends additional import and attractiveness to the annual function.

Winter Trot (5m in. limit).—Seven figure on. the limit, but none of this lot. will appeal to the majority of hackers. Ben Bingen (4.59) is a distinct possibility and may upset the hot pots, which are sure to he Parrish Belle (4.58) and Blue and Gold (4.57). This pair have splendid testimonials. Further back Black Magic (4.54) and Lord Haldane (4.53) will claim a lot of respect. Best backed' should be Parrish Belle, Blue and Gold, Lord Haldane.

Mnngere Handicap (3.36 limit). — There is a. good field engaged here, with some classy improvers well back in the handicap. They will probably find their task difficult chasing a few of those further out. There is nothing to appeal on the front line, but on 3.35 comes Denver City, Rangihau, and Belle o’ Mine, a fair trio. All of these have recent form on their side and should be troublesome. Lady Author is speedy when on the way, but Marionette reads better. Of the others most danger threatens from Some Dillon, Nelson Dillon, Aracline and Trustworthy. Backers may prefer Denver City, Belle o’ Mine and Marionette.

Provincial Trot (4.52 limit). —While the field is not, unwieldy, there is material for a fine contest. Roma Bingen off the end may go well, but Rangitero (4.51) looks to hold her quite safe. The latter's form at the last few meetings lias been sound. Ando Spray (4.51) will go a solid race, and Kolmar (4.48) will be at home if the track is soft. Paradigm (4.47) has improved a good deal and will have to be reckoned with. Olive Nelson may prefer the later trot, and Home Voyage, on Ashburton showing, will still be handy with a 4.45 mark. The fancies may be Rangitero, Paradigm, Kolmar. Mark Memorial Handicap (4.31 limit).—High class is represented in the chief event. Those to appeal most off the limit are Great Peter, Logan’s Pride and Evelyn Locanda, although Flo rent will be bandy. Reremai (4.30) might have a, chance, if the track is extra heavy, hut Carmel (4.29 looks to bo too close on her heels. Linkman and Sunshower are handily situated on 4.28, while Unit good mudlark Cardinal Logan (4.27) is worthy of consideration. Jewel Pointer (4.25) is set a still' task. Great Peter is a doubtful starter, and hackers will, depend on Logan's Pride, Linkman, Sunshower.

Hobson Handicap (4.40 limit). — Dealer is the pick of the front markers anti lie will be troublesome to those behind him. Country King (4.39) is in fine form, and should account for Concertina, on the same peg. On the 4.3 S line is Gang Awn’ Peter Pirate and Purser, and each must lie given a chance. At a point further hack is Harold Logan and Yecto, two with good form on their side, and they will have plenty of friends if the'v start. Ncero (4.36) and Brutus (4.35) have won at the distance, and the latter is more than useful in heavy going. Most support may lie found for Dealer, Country King and Harold Began.

Steward’s Handicap (4.44 limit).— High-grade trotters will he seen in this item, and off the limit Olive Nelson will have a lot of supporters. Sebisca lias a, knack of turning up at this fixture, evidently enjoying the easy track. Floraline (4.42) is a possibility, and Lady Fan (4.41) is a sturdy trotter. Gold Sovereign and The Tartar are together on 4.40. and the latter if he went away right would be a nuisance. Akenelii (4.30) and Writer (4.38) are on the marks that should give them reasonable prospects. Prime selections will probably be Olive Nelson, Akenehi and Writer.

Cornwall Handicap (2.14 limit). — Speedy sprinters' are well arrayed in tlie mile dash. The front line contains some smart, customers in Hal Chimes, Master Huia, Warplane, Rey Logan and Ngahina, and the lastnamed, being a rare beginner, wijl find most favour. Stanmoor (2.13) may do better than Laplander and Joy Bird who are beside him, while on 2.12 is the speedy Wilma Dillon. On the same peg is old All Bell, who has a good record in this race. Carmel and Linkman on 2.11 are given encouragement, and Machine Gun (2.10) and Gold Jacket (2.9) cannot he left out of calculations. Most investments may he for Ngahuia, Warplane, and Stannioor.

Marconi Handicap (2.51 J limit). — A useful field will contest the last ra.ee of the day, and it contains many solid pacers. Benefice and Riehore are the pick of the front brigade, hut Country King (12) will keep them busy. Then there is the improved Great Ballin on the same line. Gang Aw a’ and Wood vale are beside this pair and both can go a mem’. 10 furlongs. Hal Chimes and Harold Locaii appeal strongly off 24 yards, while a point further hac-k comes Mountain Dell and Veeto. When making the final choice hackers may prefer Country King, Harold Logan and Hal Chimes.
