SOUTH TARANAKI WINTER SHOW, HAWERA
EAtPiF.E WEEK. Widespread interest- is being taken in the Empire Week movement, inaugurated in Hauer a. in 1917 bv the organiser of the Winter Show, -and, carried on by successive persons to this year, 1930. This scheme has all along had tlie .‘■Jivpport and 'assistance' of the various British Trade Commissioners, and this year Hawera is being, favoured by the presence- of Mr Paisli, the present Trad© Commissioner of the Dominion. Tiie shops in Hawera will present a very s l l tractive and interesting appearance, a,s there will lie over 100 -displays of Empire goods. All the spaces in the show have been let for some time. ..jpec.ia.l excursion trains are being arranged tor between Wagiannui and New FifvniO'iith. which will enable a. number of visit-ora to see the. 21st Winter Show, ,i.t on Wednesday next and continuing for a week.
