Readers will notice by an advert’Lse- | incut in to-day’s columns that a public meeting of ladies lia,s been arranged for Monday evening next in the bandroom. The object is to discuss a scheme for raising funds for the equipping of the band with a new set of uniforms. The necessity for these has been apoarent for some time, and the hand committee believe that the ladies of Hawera can assist- materially in attaining their object and l’eel sure that their interest wi.il he shown by their attendance at the meeting, where a. line display of sample uni forms will be on view. The Mayoress, Mrs E. A. Pacey, will preside.
